Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the coin identification?
Coin Sense uses AI to suggest likely matches based on photos of both sides of the coin (obverse and reverse). Each result includes a confidence score. The identification is educational and may be inaccurate — always verify important finds with a qualified professional, especially for valuable or rare coins.
Are the value estimates real appraisals?
No. Coin Sense gives low/likely/high value ranges with a confidence score, not a professional appraisal. Value ranges are derived from reference pricing data and AI analysis. For coins of meaningful value, consult a professional numismatist or a recognized grading service such as PCGS or NGC. Do not rely on the app for buy or sell decisions.
How do I get better scan results?
Photograph both the obverse (front) and reverse (back) of the coin. Use even, diffuse lighting, fill the frame with the coin, and avoid glare — especially on coins in plastic grading slabs. A steady, well-lit photo of both sides gives the AI the best chance at a correct match.
How do I manage my subscription?
On iPhone or iPad: open Settings → tap your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Coin Sense. On Android: open the Google Play Store → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Coin Sense. You can cancel or change your plan at any time.
Is my data private?
Your collection is stored locally on your device. Photos are processed for identification and not permanently stored on our servers. Reference pricing is fetched server-side; no personal data is sent to those sources. See our Privacy Policy for details.
