This Privacy Policy describes how Dog Sense, a product of SenseApps (Hugo Bazan LLC) (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you complete the quiz on our website, we collect your email address and name to create your account and save your progress. This data is stored in our database (powered by Supabase) and is used to sync your results when you sign in to the app.
Photos and Images
When you use the breed identification feature, the App accesses your camera or photo library. Photos submitted for identification are sent to our AI identification service (powered by Google Gemini AI) for processing. Images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers unless you explicitly save them to your pack collection.
Usage Data
We use PostHog (posthog.com) for product analytics. PostHog collects anonymous usage data including feature usage, session duration, and in-app navigation to help us improve the App. This data is not linked to your name or email.
Marketing Analytics
We use Meta Pixel (facebook.com/business/tools/meta-pixel) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. When you provide your email address on our website, a hashed (one-way encrypted) version may be shared with Meta for conversion attribution. This helps us understand which ads bring people to our product.
Subscription Management
We use RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to manage in-app subscriptions. Your email address is shared with RevenueCat as a user identifier to sync your subscription status across platforms. We do not store your credit card details.
Local Storage
Certain data (your pack collection, scan history, achievements, and preferences) is also stored locally on your device for offline access. In addition, your quiz session data, email, and name are stored server-side (Supabase) to enable account features across devices.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To identify dog breeds from photos you submit
- To create and maintain your account and sync quiz results to the app
- To provide AI-powered Buddy chat responses about care and behavior
- To process and manage your subscription via RevenueCat
- To measure advertising effectiveness via Meta Pixel
- To improve the App through anonymous product analytics (PostHog)
3. AI Processing
The App uses Google Gemini AI to analyze photos and generate breed identification suggestions, including mixed-breed estimates with percentages and confidence scores. AI results are estimates based on visual analysis and may be inaccurate. Images are sent to Google’s servers for processing and are not retained by Google beyond the duration of the API request, per Google’s API data usage policy.

5. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with the service providers listed above as necessary to operate the App, and we may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. Data Retention
- Quiz session & account data: Retained for the life of your account and deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
- Images submitted for AI identification: Processed in real-time and not retained on our servers.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized; retained per provider policy (PostHog).
- Financial records: Retained as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location (including GDPR for EU/UK users and CCPA for California residents), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Request data portability (receive your data in a structured format) — GDPR
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — CCPA (we do not sell your data)
To delete your account and all associated data, visit sense-apps.co/delete-account or use the “Delete Account” option in the app settings. We respond to all data requests within 30 days.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the date above.
